Windows Live Mail – on ignorance

Ever tried to open Live Hotmail, as it is called now (is it really out of beta) with, say, Safari 3.03 beta or with the newest Opera version. Picture below looking somewhat familiar?

I wonder if anybody besides me has this feeling that the useful-to-annoying ratio of live mail has significantly gone up since the MSN and Hotmail re-appear more and more prominent. I really had hoped for at least the ill conceived MSN service being a goner, but this brainchild of a halfwit marketing aficionado seems to continue to haunt the thinking part of computer using mankind (which admittedly is not that high a percentage). Another proof of me being a really lucky person, I guess.

Its about since that time that the annoying message above – wake up guys, Safari is actually newer AND way more capable than IE 6 ever could dream of, so you can’t really expect people to download IE 6 on that reason. All apart from the fact the my Vista would probably not approve of IE 6 as a new house guest.

Live mail – I really prefer that name – is still in beta so maybe a brave soul within MS takes this up and at least implements an option to enable full version on ones own risk – thank you nanny, but I’m a big boy now. In the meantime I decide for myself which braindead piece of software to put on top of the list of annoying attacks on my nerves, the one above or the ever famous MS Office 2000 wizards (you DO remember those, don’t you).
